Lizzie Challen Hubbard

Lizzie Challen Hubbard is a writer and poet. Her short story ‘Hölle’ was shortlisted for the 2024 Desperate Literature Short Story Prize and her short story ‘Probably Just Foxes’, came third in the 2021 Aurora Prize, run by Writing East Midlands. Her poetry has been published in experimental poetry magazine, STREETCAKE. Most recently, Lizzie’s short story ‘& The Beast’ was published in Snake Bite Books first Creature Feature Anthology.

Everything I know about love I learnt working weekend shifts on the Ghost Train. It was a sweet gig for a 15 year-old — sitting in the mucky perspex booth, trading tokens for screams.
