SOME EDITS by Zac Smith

Hey man, thanks for sending me this. I like it. I like the part about the train derailment. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a trail derailment, but your description seems realistic. And the part about the skulls touching each other was pretty funny. It’s weird: when I was a kid, we moved to this little town with a couple train tracks that went through it and our first summer there I had a hard time sleeping at night because of how loud the trains were. Then, in high school, there was a guy who graduated and like the day after graduation he climbed onto one of the train bridges and committed suicide by standing in front of the train. There was an interview with the cops about it on local access, and they were like, speculating about how he must have been hiding under the tracks so the engineer wouldn’t stop the train. He was just like, dangling from the bottom of the trellis or whatever until the train got there. The one cop was like, “He must have been way strong if he was hanging from the underside of the tracks for so long. We’re talkin’…like…professional wrestler kinda strong.” My friends and I would say things were professional wrestler kinda strong after that, in the voice the cop used, because it was so great how he said it. The train didn’t derail, though, when this happened. Would’ve been cool if it did, maybe. Anyway, I think you should cut the last couple lines – I think just leaving it at this would be a good ending: But first I have to make some eggs; I’ve been really into hardboiled eggs lately.

Zac Smith, baby.
